Oregon Schools to Watch (STW)

OMLA is the Oregon affiliate of the Association for Middle Level Education, dedicated to serving the unique needs of young adolescents. We:

  • have maintained AMLE affiliate status for over 30 consecutive years and we interact with other state affiliates

  • host members annually from July 1-June 30

  • sponsor the COSA presentation of the annual Oregon Middle School Principal of the Year

  • represent Oregon as a Schools to Watch state, with significant national volunteerism

Oregon Schools to Watch is the Oregon affiliate of the National Forum Schools to Watch program, a nonprofit educators’ association dedicated to improving education and school-based supports for all young adolescents in the middle grades. We:

  • are leading the effort to decrease human effort by implementing uses of GPTs for repeatable processes

  • maintain the national database

  • celebrate nationally the incredible number of currently and formerly designated Schools to Wath

  • make sure folks know that Oregon may be a small and heavily rural state, but we rock!
